As most of you know, I recently moved here from the Panhandle. Once my family and I got settled, I started working on getting my business up and running here. I began to look for some ways to advertise, to get my name and work out there. I also started looking for fun things we could do as a family around the area, to get to the know people and have some fun.
She is the publisher over at the Sarasota-Venice Macaroni Kide-newsletter. Macaroni Kid has two main goals; to enrich communities and empower moms, and I personally love that message. So, Jaime's super power is publishing the Macaroni Kid email weekly, which lists all of the fun things to do around the Sarasota-Venice area with kiddos. She also runs the website. It has both national publications, as well as local publications throughout various states and towns around the United States (HINT: you should check to see if there is one in your area!).
I started following her site on Facebook, and noticed that there were businesses being advertised. I thought this would be a great way to get my name out there to moms and families, so I shot her a quick email, inquiring about advertising opportunities. She emailed me back and was super sweet, telling me that we could work something out to my name out there AND get pictures of her sweet boys, since, like all of us, she is a busy mama and hasn't had pictures done since her youngest boy was very small.
We ran into a few problems getting our session schedule (read as major rainstorms and then Hurricane Irma!), but once the weather corporate we met for a fun night on the beach.
Right away Jaime said, "We don't care if the boys get dirty or wet. We are just going to go with it, because it's going to happen. We are at the beach!"
MUSIC TO MY EARS (and I am pretty sure her kids loved it, too!).
So, we just had a fun night playing in the water and I think it worked out well. I am fairly certain that if you listen closely while looking at some there images, you can hear their adorable giggles ;)
Thanks for being so wonderful, Jaime! I had a blast with your E and J.
