Newborn 1:1 Mentoring with Nicole Everson

Newborn photography has always been a passion of mine. What's not to love? An adorable, squishy, new babe in adorable little poses sleeping so sweetly? Come on! What's not to love, right?

However, I always felt like something was a little off. Having moved this year and kicking off Lindsay Marie Photography, I decided Newborn Photography was going to be a focus of mine. I have taken some online classes about being a newborn photographer, but I really wanted some hands on experience.

Enter Nicole Everson!

Nicole and me, getting ready to pose some sweet babies!

She has been my newborn photographer girl crush for a while....her work is not only GORGEOUS, but it is very clean, organic and her focus is ALWAYS on the baby. Do yourself a favor and check out her work here: Nicole Everson Photography.

Since I basically stalk this poor woman's work, I knew that she offered mentoring. I decided to take a chance on myself and sign up for it.

IT WAS AMAZING!

Nicole was an open book - we talked about every aspect of business, photography, studio lighting (um, hello....#gamechanger), babies, family....everything. Nothing was left uncovered.

I learned a TON including newborn safety and posing, camera angles (still working on that one...weak spot of mine!), and even had tacos for lunch. We photographed SIX newborn babes and even did one maternity session together. It was exhausting and wonderful all in one.

Nicole is not only an amazing photographer, but she is also a beautiful person. She is honest and funny, and has a super sweet heart. She is also an incredible teacher, and I feel so honored to have been able to spend two whole days working with her.

Anddddd, she was super cool when I ripped a big ol' hole in my LuLaRoe leggings on her beautiful real barn wood set! I was scooting across the wood to hand her a sleeping baby when I heard a little pop and felt stuck in one place....oops! She was not at all mad that her clients could have potentially seen my bum...she laughed as hard as I did! She's cool people, I tell ya!

NOW.....I can't wait to bring what I know back to Sarasota and photograph as many beautiful babies here as I can!

Look for more blog posts coming soon about all of the babies we worked!
