As many of you know, I did a newborn photography mentorship with Nicole Everson (see more on that here).
She recommended that when I got back to Venice, I have a model call to practice some of what I learned. This was a great idea, because everything was easy when Nicole was over my shoulder, instructing me. Even though I have done newborn photography before, it was wonderful to take a class with a well-known pro and brush up on the my skills. Plus, I learned a whole lot of new stuff, so booking some model calls to practice my newly learned newborn photography skills was a must.
So I put out a call and got some people to answer. One of the was Alex. She was having a brand new baby girl and booked a model call session with me. My mom was here and got to act as my assistant, which was great!
Baby G was great during her session! Since it was near Christmas time, we got her all snuggled up like a little snow bunny and she was adorable! I was happy to get to use some of my girly headbands, even though I kept the color pallet pretty neutral. We even got a shot of her wide eyed, looking right at the camera! SO SWEET!
I really love working with newborns and being able to capture their fresh newness. Newborn photography is such an awesome thing to have as a mom -- I really wish I had photographs of my children in their newborn stage.
It is definitely an investment, but one that is worth while and something that you will treasure for years to come.
If you or someone you know is need of a newborn session, get in touch with me! I have gift cards available and newborn sessions (or a gift card towards a newborn session) make GREAT baby shower gifts!
